Much as it may pain some clans, the Orlanthi are far from the most powerful group in Dragon Pass. The trolls boast certain individuals with power that can rival the gods and eldest dragons. Cragspider is one such person...

Note: This event only occurs if one of the tribal provisions agreed upon with the <Planning Clan> was to make peace with the trolls.

Dialogue: Terms of Agreement[]

ConcernedDelegation

This is the even that pops up if you are the tribe's king/queen.

The <Planning Clan> brings up the tribal agreement to make peace with the trolls. They remind us that they are familiar with trolls and know where to find the troll leader, Cragspider the Firewitch. They also say that they are tired of waiting for us to make good on our promise.

1. Send a negotiator with the peace delegation.
2. Send warriors to guard the delegation.
3. Send warriors and a negotiator.
4. "We should make peace with the trolls, but not now."

King of Dragon Pass

Consequences

  • You can have a choice of sending a negotiator, warriors, or both. If you do so, then you go directly to the Cragspider Meeting.
  • You can decide whether to delay making peace with the trolls if your persuasion is successful. Failure will have them push the issue. There are a couple reasons you may wish to delay the meeting. First, if your ancestral enemies are trolls, then you will lose clan magic by making peace. Second, if your clan has bad relations with the trolls, this may cause a bad reaction with the trolls

Dialogue: Let's Make Peace[]

This is the event that occurs if another clan has the king/queen.

During negotiations to create the tribe, it was agreed that the tribe would make peace with the trolls. <Planning Clan>, which insisted on this provision, knows about trolls. The leader of the trolls of Dragon Pass is an ancient and very powerful being called Cragspider the Firewitch. The <Planning Clan> can lead the peace delegation to her lair, which is far to the north.

1. Send a negotiator with the peace delegation.
2. Send warriors to guard the delegation.
3. Send warriors and a negotiator.
4. "We should make peace with the trolls, but not now."
5. "Let the king worry about this. It is not our affair."

Consequences[]

If you send someone, whether it is warriors or a negotiator, success will increase your clan's reputation. Failure will lower reputation.

  • Letting the king worry about Cragspider may result in success, which goes to his clan. Failure may cause more troll raids.

Dialogue: Cragspider Meeting[]

The delegation to the rolls found its way back to Cragspider's home. Now they have been escorted into her presence. What tack should <X> take with Cragspider?

1. Boast and threaten; promise not to destroy her.
2. Flatter and cajole; promise her wealth and advantage.
3. Grovel and scrape; promise never to annoy her with your insignificant presence.

King of Dragon Pass

Consequences[]

  • Boasting and threatening will just bring about the delegation's demise, and naturally lowers relations with the trolls.
  • Flattery and cojolery will get you nowhere as well, unless you want death. The trolls are well established, and have little need of human things in Dragon Pass.
  • The best option is grovel and scrape. Though it may mean a hit to your pride, success will improve relations with trolls, and the survival of the delegation.
