Event Dialogue[]

< X >, a young woman of your clan and renowned for her cleverness and beauty, is now of marriageable age.  Three suitors come courting her.  < A > of < clan 1 > promises a gift of ten horses to the clan ring if he can have her hand in marriage.  This gift is above and beyond the bride price, and need not be reciprocated.  < B >, of the < clan 2 > clan, says he knows a secret story of the gods, which he will tell you if you let him marry her.  And < C >, of the < clan 3 > clan, promises the eternal esteem of his clan in exchange for < X >'s hand.
  1. Allow < X > to choose
  2. Marry her to < A >
  3. Marry her to < B >
  4. Marry her to < C >
  5. Marry her to the winner of a series of contests
  6. Refuse them all

Consequences[]

  • People always appreciate having the freedom to do as they choose.
  • Remember, the clan ring retains the say in whether someone may marry or not.  Many times marriages are determined for economic or political gain.  This may cause hard feelings if the bride dislikes her fiance.
  • Everyone likes a good wedding, and holding a contest for the bride's hand can even raise relations with neighboring clans.
  • Outright refusal is also the ring's perogative, but engenders ill-will, both within the clan and without.
