Destiny's Journey

Now she has reached her prime, something stirs deep within Kallyr, a need for recognition, a desire for immortality.  She approaches the clan ring, and asks their permission to continue her destiny. This destiny can take one of two forms (in version 2.3 or later).

Event Dialogue (Destiny's Price)

Kallyr, the accomplished Vingan warrior woman of your clan, proposes a dangerous mission.  "In the Holy Country there are a people called the Kitori.  They are humans, but live like trolls and worship troll gods.  One of their great heroes is Warlan Darkbreath.  He went to the realm of the gods and brought back a band of cloth called the Band of One Hundred, which has one different uses.  I wish to take warriors to the land of the Kitori to fight Warlan Darkbreath and take the Band of One Hundred.

1.  Conduct a divination.
2.  Give permission.
3.  Persuade her that it is a bad idea.
4.  Refuse permission.
5.  Tell her to ask again later.

King of Dragon Pass

Consequences (Destiny's Price)

  • Divination will reveal heroes tend to die when they combat one another.
  • If you desire a unique treasure, then give Kallyr permission to go. You will then be prompted to provide a number of weaponthanes and farmers. It's best to be stingy, as all but one of these men will die. If you try to send too few, Kallyr will ask for more and let you try again. 0 weaponthanes, 15 footmen can work.
  • As a hero, Kallyr already has her mind set on a course of action. It is difficult to persuade her that it is a bad idea. If you fail, she will ask permission later. If you succeed, the morale of your warriors will drop somewhat.
  • Whether you flat-out refuse permission or tell her to ask again later, Kallyr will bring the subject up again at a later time.

Note

If you give Kallyr permission to leave, her story culminates in Kallyr Va: Destiny's Price.

Event Dialogue (Destiny's Journey)

Kallyr, the accomplished Vingan warrior woman of your clan, proposes a dangerous Heroquest.  "I wish to follow in the footsteps of the hero Nallindia Trailblazer, who explored the realm of the gods with Vinga's myths as her math. Thanks to Nallindia's journey to the Otherworld, no member of her clan became lost, and explorers always returned. Will you support me?"

1.  Conduct a divination.
2.  Give permission.
3.  Persuade her that it is a bad idea.
4.  Refuse permission.
5.  Tell her to ask again later.

King of Dragon Pass

Consequences (Destiny's Journey)

  • Your ancestors find it hard to predict what will happen with Divination, but will mention that it does not matter whether or not you have performed heroquest rituals during Sacred Time
  • If you desire to aid your explorers or strengthen Kallyr, give Kallyr permission to go
  • As a hero, Kallyr already has her mind set on a course of action.  You will be unable to persuade her that it is a bad idea.  Instead, she will ask permission later.
  • Whether you flat-out refuse permission or tell her to ask again later, Kallyr will bring the subject up again at a later time.

Note

If you give Kallyr permission to leave, her story continues in Kallyr Vb: Destiny's Journey.
