Event: Death by Chaos

Chaos sometimes strikes out of nowhere...

Dialogue: Ring Member's Death

The ring gathers in sorrow around <X> who was struck down by a weird Chaos monster that was living inside one of our cows.  One of our Uroxi thanes killed the creature before it could get away, but <X> is dying, and the god-talkers say no healing spells or resurrection can save him.  Even as the healers consult their lore, <X> dies.

1.  Declare a private period of mourning.
2.  Sacrifice to Orlanth in honor of <X>.
3.  Send warriors to hunt Chaos monsters.

Dialogue: Monarch's Death

The ring gathers in sorrow around <King/Queen>, who was struck down by a weird chaos monster that looked like a deer but had the face of a troll. One of our Humakti thanes killed the creature before it could get away, but <King/Queen> is dying and the god-talkers say no healing spells or resurrection can save him. even as the healers consult their lore, <King/Queen> dies.

  1. Declare a private period of mourning.
  2. Prepare for the election of a king from another clan.
  3. Sacrifice to Orlanth in honor of <King/Queen>.
  4. Select a member of your clan as candidate for king.
  5. Send warriors to hunt Chaos creatures.

King of Dragon Pass

Consequences

  • Declaring a period of mourning and sacrificing to Orlanth will appease your people. A sacrifice may have a greater effect, but has a chance of failure.
  • Hunting Chaos monsters will decrease the presence of Chaos in your tula.
  • Choosing either to select a member of your clan or supporting another clan for election will set the date of the election to next season.

Note:  There are a variety of monsters which may strike at your ring member/monarch.

Event: Death by Poison

Dialogue: Ring Member's Death

<X> had been bitten by a poisonous snake. Efforts at healing have failed; his limbs swell alarmingly. He calls for <Y>. He is composing an epic poem to commemorate his life, and wants <Y> to remember it. As the poison seeps through his body, he continues. As he reaches the final stanza, he expires.

  1. Declare a private period of mourning.
  2. Sacrifice to Orlanth in honor of <X>.
  3. End emissaries to other clans to recite <X>'s poem.

King of Dragon Pass

Consequences

  • Declaring a period of mourning and sacrificing to Orlanth will appease your people. A sacrifice may have a greater effect, but has a chance of failure.
  • Sending emissaries to recite the poem, the other clans may be moved, and you may gain magic for doing as <X> wished.
