Spirit
The world is full of spirits. Some are good; others are bad. Most of them have their own selfish goals, just like people.

Ring Member, King of Dragon Pass

Spirits are myriad in Glorantha, as are their interactions with your clan. Shamans and hermits can both aid in dealing with spirits and sick them on you.

Any animal, any plant, any location, any emotion, any thought...if you can think of it, there is a spirit associated with it.  Of course, whether they are aware enough to interact with the mortal world or desire to is a different matter.

Given how they act, ghosts, wraiths, nymphs and such are often included with spirits.

Varieties of spirits[]

  • Spirits of the Dead: The recently departed may haunt their old dwellings
  • Ancestral spirits: Long dead relatives who offer advice from beyond the grave
  • Place-bound spirits: Spirits tied to a place; a patch of land, a monument, a formation of rocks, a mountain or otherwise
  • Spirits of disease: Malicious spirit beings associated with Malia, they bring bad health and death to your Tula
  • Ancient spirits: Spirits tied to the site of an ancient battle in where now lies your tula. Re-enacting the battle generally pleases them.
  • Dragon spirits: Rare, but dangerous spirits when angered.
